Canon EOS R6 Camera Body Summary
The EOS R6 camera body represents a huge leap in development from the EOS R together with adopting the best technology from Canon’s DSLR range. The sheer number of feature upgrades bring together the class leading speed from the 7D with the full-frame capabilities of the 6D into mirrorless camera portability. This places the Canon R6 firmly at the forefront of mirrorless technology suitable for advanced amateurs and semi-pro content creators who shoot stills and video. Image quality from the 20.1MP sensor is rich and detailed and ISO now spans a huge native range of ISO100-102,400 for high performance in any lighting situation. This allows photographers to work in their chosen field with smooth low noise subjects such as landscape, architecture and portrait to virtual darkness found in street photography, sports and wildlife situations. Complementing the ISO range is sensor shift stabilisation which provides up to 8 stops of industry leading compensation when combined with particular RF lenses. Users can also add a lens mount adaptor for endless EF and EFS lens options which is particularly useful for those with existing DSLR optics.
Videographers can upgrade to the mirrorless EOS R6 comfortable in the knowledge that they are able to capture high quality 4K at 60p in 10bit with HEVC (H265) as well as beautiful slow motion footage in Full HD at 120p. Acclaimed Dual Pixel CMOS II AF is incredibly responsive and accurate for both stills and video, employing the latest Eye, Face and Animal focusing capabilities. All of this data is processed by the cutting edge DIGIC X processor handling 4K movies with ease as well as ultra fast 12fps continuous shooting in mechanical shutter or 20fps in silent electronic shutter. Action photographers can capture up to 240 RAW, 1000+ JPG before any buffer warning. Two SD UHS-II card slots record data and the body itself has been weather sealed, ready for outdoor creativity. Updates don’t end there and also include a new high powered Li-ion Battery LP-E6NH, USB-C and WiFi connectivity and 100% AF coverage for full-frame tracking.
