Canon EOS 7D MK2 SUMMARY |
|
Product features in detail |
Metering sensor The EOS 7D Mark II provides consistent and accurate exposure metering thanks to its 150,000-pixel metering sensor which splits the scene up into 252 areas. It analyses each one, and either automatically sets the correct exposure settings or recommends them to you. It also measures infrared light as well as visible light, so is even more accurate in difficult lighting conditions. Image processors The dual DIGIC 6 processors of the 7D MK2 control everything on the camera from exposure metering, to autofocus, and process the sensor data into high resolution images. focusing Fast, smooth autofocus tracking is possible when using Live View or shooting movies, as the 7D includes Dual Pixel CMOS autofocusing technology. Each pixel has 2 photodiodes that can be read either independently or together when focusing. Focus tracking speed and sensitivity can be adjusted for slow-pull transitions. Video The 7D features full HD 1080p video at up to 50 or 60 frames per second, so is well-suited for both fast and slow-motion subjects. An HDMI output lets you record high resolution footage on external devices, and microphone and headphone sockets allow for recording of crystal clear sound. GPS You can geotag movies and images and record your position anywhere globally. Longitude, latitude, and elevation can be recorded, as well as coordinated universal time and compass direction. |
Our Verdict
The Canon EOS 7D Mark 2 is a popular choice for wildlife and sports photography, thanks to its excellent autofocusing and burst shooting ability. Its dual DIGIC 6 processors work together alternately, so the camera is always ready for its next shot.
For photographers familiar with Canon DSLRs, the 7D MK II will be straightforward to use, but with over 100 variable settings, newcomers may find it slightly intimidating. For this reason, Park Cameras School of Photography offer a full day's training on how to use your Canon 7D Mark II.
The Canon 7D Mark II is now bundled with the Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi adapter - which allows you to wireless transfer or back up data from your camera. Please note that if this is in use, a Compact Flash card will be required for image capture.
