TourBox Elite in More Detail

More than just shortcuts

TourBox Elite is useful in almost all creative software from all industries. This versatile gadget is particularly distinguished in the field of digital painting, photography, video and audio post production.

  • Photographers gain mouse-free sliding to change settings and work swiftly on exposure, contrast, shadow and highlight with a simple turn of the knob. Experience streamlined functionality in photo editing apps like Lightroom, Camera Raw and Capture One. All parameters could be accurately and rapidly calibrated based on preferred pace.
  • For digital painting, the TourBox Elite provides instant access to functions like canvas rotation, zoom in and out, brush control etc. It allows users to adjust size, stroke, opacity, flow, all the brush controls with a simple turn of the knob, and zoom in or out with the versatile scroll wheel.
  • While processing in Final Cut Pro X, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, PowerDirector and other video apps, film makers enjoy actions like zooming-in and out of the timeline, navigating on a custom speed or frame by frame, playback, and jumping to a new position.
  • Adjusting picture quality and matching colour and exposure are crucial in video editing. TourBox Elite allows the calibration of the colour parameter precisely via the knob, dial and scroll.
  • For audio post production, audio editors can rapidly call out all kinds of panels, have easy access to tools for drawing, painting and slicing and more importantly, apply it in MIDI control.

First Bluetooth Editing Controller

This is probably the first Bluetooth controller in the creative industry that all TourBoxers have been waiting for. You may find Bluetooth headphones, sound-bars, mice and video game controllers everywhere, but nothing like a Bluetooth editing controller.

The pairing and connecting process of TourBox Elite is quite sleek. It is a dual-host low energy 5.1 Bluetooth, supporting connection with up to 2 devices, including computers, laptops and drawing tablets that work on macOS, Windows and more systems to be developed.

Haptic feedback

TourBox Elite comes in with a small haptic bump that provides excellent responsiveness on the knob, dial and scroll. That means it delivers configurable force feedback every time the rotary buttons work, bringing more engagement and intuition in editing.

The team presents various speed modes to make it even more configurable and intuitive. There are three dedicated modes: Standard, Slow1 and Slow2. Think of it as if you’re changing the scroll settings on your mouse, how many lines to scroll each time, the speed and sensitivity control will do exactly that.

Extensive software compatibility

The TourBox Elite is very versatile when it comes to program compatibility. It is literally a cross-platform controller, supporting image editing applications like:

  • Photoshop
  • Lightroom
  • Illustrator
  • Capture One
  • Clip Studio Paint
  • Comic Studio
  • Final Cut Pro
  • Premiere
  • After Effects
  • DaVinci Resolve

Featuring presets auto switch, where it literally detects the programs and automatically switches to the corresponding preset, the TourBox Elite allows you to switch seamlessly among various devices and programs.

Macro command, for linear buttons

For whoever crazy about Macro, the Macro command of the TourBox Elite (on its dial, knob and scroll in especial), is definitely an add-on. The setting is straightforward. It automates all the repetitive and complex tasks in the editing workflow via one click. Configurable actions include keyboard shortcuts, mouse action, delay, text input, file and folder opening and link directing.

TourMenu offers more possibilities

TourMenu is indeed a very interesting menu tool developed by the TourBox Tech Team. It is more like a shortcut menu that appears upon user interaction, such as a right-click mouse operation, but fully configurable. To act as an extension plugin on the TourBox Elite, the TourMenu can be mapped on almost all buttons, with user-defined functions like Photoshop toolbox, copy and paste, open files, etc.

Powerful yet affordable

Some users might find the TourBox Elite asymmetrical and peculiar, but the way it looks actually allows them to edit without the need to look at the console. You can memorise the shape and location of each unique button so that they do not need to keep looking down searching, resulting in a genuine editing tool to enhance your workflow and ease your workload. This wireless Bluetooth version is also joined by a wired controller, the TourBox Neo.

Our Verdict

If you work with any kind of editing, drawing or post processing software on a regular basis you know how time consuming it can be to streamline and customise your workflow. The TourBox Elite is designed to make this far easier, through a uniquely designed console layout, with a range of customisable knobs, dials and buttons for digital painting, photography, video and audio post production.

The design is created in such a way as to negate the need for looking down at the console to locate the button you need, with many users resting their left hand on the Elite and their right hand on the mouse.

TourBox Elite offers both Mac and PC compatibility and works with a huge range of industry-standard creative applications. When you’re making adjustments, whether to photos, videos or drawings, you can do so while still looking at your screen. This presents significant time-saving advantages, particularly for photographers when using sliding toolbars and other tools. Everything becomes a little quicker and you also benefit from haptic feedback in one of the world’s first Bluetooth editing consoles for creative professionals and enthusiasts.
