Sony ZV-E10 II Camera with 16-50mm Lens Kit Summary
Aimed at ambitious vloggers and professional content creators the Sony E PZ 16-50mm II f/3.5-5.6 OSS Zoom Lens pairs the second-gen. APS-C format vlogging camera with the updated zoom lens. Both the camera and lens have been refined by Sony to provide better image quality with more accurate AF, enhanced image stabilisation, and support for up to 120fps continuous shooting. With the latest BIONZ XR processor, the next-generation ZV Alpha camera's new 26MP sensor reduces rolling shutter effects, offers internal 4K 60p with high-quality 4:2:2 10-Bit recording, and improves autofocus with wider coverage.
And that’s not all, as the updated APS-C zoom lens with a 24-75mm full-frame equivalent range supports tracking AF during zooming and body-lens coordinated image stabilisation. This complements the body’s updated electronic image stabilisation, which improves digital compensation against camera shake, resulting in smoother and more stable footage, with more of the image area available post digital crop.
Video capabilities include 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra recording, 4K60p 16:9 Super 35 oversampled from 5.6K, and 4K30p oversampled from 6K footage. Sony has also added specialised creator features such as focus breathing compensation.
Creators also gain more control in-camera and for post processing thanks to LUT imports, S-Cinetone profile, Looks, and a wider range of recording formats to choose between. Body ergonomics and battery performance are also aimed at advanced creators, with a control button for Sony’s Product Showcase mode, and almost 50% better battery life from the upgraded rechargeable Z battery.
A new vertical UI supports vertical compositions, while the camera caters to travel vlogs, TikTok, YouTube and supports even better streaming content, all from a hybrid camera that weighs under 400g.

Sony ZV-E10 II Camera with 16-50mm Lens Kit in More Detail
Updated mark II zoom lens
The Sony E PZ 16-50mm II f/3.5-5.6 OSS Zoom Lens is updated with improved features for video makers, including enhanced image stabilisation, tracking AF during zooming and support for up to 120fps continuous shooting.
New sensor and the latest processor
Sony has included the first ever Exmor R sensor in a ZV camera, together with the very latest BIONZ XR processor. Together these deliver cinematic image quality from the large APS-C format sensor, with wider AF coverage, and faster processing power for even better results.
The mark 2 improves on its predecessor for video, with 4:2:2 10-Bit colour sampling, and All intra compression, allowing you to capture more colours with accurate rendition from the scene ahead. Rolling shutter has been reduced, and 4K60p slow motion recording added, broadening the range of video formats available to help create storytelling content.
Additionally, Focus breathing compensation is now supported, which suppresses changes in angle of view when pulling focus, and works with the majority of own-brand Sony E mount lenses. This joins a number of new features designed to help you make more professional content in-camera, with less fuss.
High-quality video recording
In order to captivate your audience the Sony ZV-E10 II includes a variety of video resolutions through to 4K60p recording, with oversampled footage and beautiful results in-camera.
4K60p/50p
- Super 35mm (16:9) Oversampling from 5.6K
- Shooting with 10/8-Bit, Long GOP/All-I, H.264/H.265 with approximately 1.1x crop
4K30p/25p
- Super 35mm (16:9) Oversampling from 6K
- Shooting with 10/8-Bit, Long GOP/All-I, H.264/H.265 with virtually no crop
Slow and Quick
- Up to 2.5x with 4K60fps recording
- Up to 5x with FHD 120fps recording in 10-Bit 4:2:2 mode
Improved Active Mode Stabilisation
Electronic image stabilisation is available when shooting videos, and the mark II camera features improved Active stabilisation, which is more effective due to a wider cropping area. The allows more of the frame to remain stable, once the electronic crop is complete.
The table below highlights the comparison between the original camera and the second-generation’s ability to crop into the frame digitally, with 60/50p high frame rate and 4K30p stabilisation improvements.

Intelligent 3 Capsule Microphone
The ZV-E10 II features an upgraded high-performance intelligent 3-capsule microphone with variable direction recording. This is capable of picking up clear audio in outdoor situations, even where wind and environmental noise can be problematic, and also offers spatially aware recording, picking up audio atomically from the front, rear and all directions when in Auto mode.
This caters to creators who use the internal microphone for interviews, vlogging and where audio comes from different directions around the camera body. You can of course also add a dedicated external microphone in order to capture the highest possible audio quality with the mic of your choice.
Cinematic video in-camera or in post production
Through Cinematic Vlog settings, which combine five looks x four moods, the ZV-E10 II is able to capture cinematic content in-camera or for subsequent post processing. This enables the creator to choose between S-Cinetone, Clean, Chic, Fresh and Mono while applying Gold, Ocean, Forest and Auto moods.
When recording in S-Cinetone picture profile skin tones are optimised and footage has a film-like colour with reduced need for colour grading. Creative Looks also offer a wider colour palette for expressive results straight out of camera.

Updated UI with enhanced touch operation
Sony has updated the camera’s user interface with the latest touch operated menus and intuitive gestures, which are used for control and image review. This provides easier operation, especially while in selfie mode, which is further supported by the vari-angle 3” LCD screen.
The new My Image style navigation enables quick changes to parameters by simply touching the screen icons, and a new vertical UI layout has been added to support vertical content creation. The camera body is also tailored to content creators needs, with a dedicated product showcase setting button, zoom lever, Red REC button and an upgraded Stills / Video / S&Q sector, providing intuitive operation whichever platform you are creating for.
Longer battery life
Support for the Sony NP-FZ100 battery provides around 50% better performance, with around 610 images when using LCD (up from 440) and 130 minute recording time (LCD), which is up from 80 mins. The table below highlights
Improved connectivity to share with the world
5GHz WiFi and 5Gbps USB Type C provides high-speed data transfer. Both can be used to transfer recorded footage to a smartphone at high-speed for easier sharing on social media platforms. Direct live streaming is also available with support for RTMP/RTMPS/SRT protocols for live streaming wirelessly through your phone. A URL must be registered via Sony’s Creators App in advance.
4K/30p and FHD 60p live-streaming is now available via USB with UVC/UAC, making it easier than ever to share your content with the world.

Our Verdict
This kit pairs Sony’s all-new vlogging camera with the updated zoom lens to provide the latest capabilities for enthusiast creators and professional vloggers. The lens’ versatile zoom range is ideal for all sorts of stills and video content, although it’s been refined to capture more compelling video much more easily. This is through improved body/lens image stabilisation, tracking AF while zooming and AF at up to 120fps, which keeps pace with the ZV-E10 II’s high frame rate video recording and newly added S&Q capabilities.
The body upgrades answer creators wishlists through a new APS-C sensor and processor combination, which reduce the effects of rolling shutter, while enhancing in-camera video recording to 4K 60p. New codecs and profiles have been added, along with support for new Looks and styles, enabling creators to choose between capturing ready-made content directly in-camera, and colour grading during post processing.
New support for Sony’s high-capacity Z battery delivers improved battery life, and the camera now offers enhanced support for vertical shooting with a new vertical format UI. Sony has also gone all out with their latest touch operation, making the ZV-E10 II more intuitive to use and more adept at creating compelling content easily.
If you’re a visual storyteller who specialises in video content for social media channels like Youtube, TikTok and Meta, this kit helps elevate your content to new heights, while remaining super lightweight for travel and handheld shooting.
