Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens For Nikon Z Mount Summary

With a short telephoto focal length, the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Nikon Z Mount arrives with outstanding optics for crop sensor Nikon mirrorless cameras. Although designed for DX foam bodies like the Z50 and Z fc, this 85mm equivalent lens is equally happy on a full-frame body when shooting in DX mode.

The high quality optical design from Sigma’s Contemporary line renders sharp details and beautiful bokeh, thanks to a 9-blade rounded diaphragm, with a wide f/1.4 maximum aperture. This allows you to capture shallow depth of field portraits and similar short telephoto subjects for which this lens is well suited. Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens For Nikon Z Mount in More Detail

Contemporary lens with the latest technologies

This lens combines a compact design and ease-of-use, while prioritising outstanding image quality. Sigma designed the new 30mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary lens to be extremely compact, with a special focus lens group which delivers fast and smooth AF performance for videography. It provides excellent optical performance for Nikon users, alongside the simultaneously launched 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens.

Smooth AF for video recording

The combination of optical design for video AF and the stepping motor enables smooth and quiet autofocus. This lens is also compatible with the Sony E-mount Fast Hybrid AF, achieving precise AF tracking. By using the face recognition or eye AF functions of cameras, focus will continuously be on the face or the eye even if the subject moves during the shoot.

Compact with outstanding optical performance

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens For Nikon Z Mount boasts inner focus technologies, while lighter lens elements in the focus lens group result in a more compact actuator. Users also enjoy outstanding stability whether shooting handheld or on a tripod. This is an unprecedented lens that combines outstanding optical performance with exceptional portability and usability.

Brilliant image quality

An optical system with 9 elements in 7 groups includes a front lens element with high-refractive index, high-dispersion glass for extra power and a shorter overall lens length. Two aspherical elements ensure outstanding image quality and overall compactness. The 9-blade rounded diaphragm creates an attractive blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image.

Well controlled flare and ghosting

Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting to help photographers produce sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions. The included lens hood can also be used to block extraneous light, which can have a negative effect on image rendering.

High-precision, brass bayonet mount

A brass mount combines high precision with rugged construction, plus treated surfaces and enhanced strength contribute to exceptional durability of this Nikon mirrorless lens. The mount is also dust and splash-proof, due to a special sealing, making a solid choice regardless of environmental conditions.
