Rotolight AEOS 2 Explorer Kit Summary
The Rotolight AEOS 2 Explorer Kit offers unmatched versatility for photographers and filmmakers when shooting on location and includes a diffuser dome, 95 Wh battery, PSU and soft bag. The updated AEOS 2 LED light builds on the success of the first generation to combine the benefits of a shoot what you see continuous light with High-Speed Sync RGB flash (1/8000th). The light output is significantly increased, flashing to 17,800 LUX at 1m and there’s zero recycle time even with full-power flashes from the battery. AEOS 2 can be triggered wirelessly from up to 200m with an integrated Elinchrom Skyport flash receiver and optional Skyport transmitters (see below for links).
Rotolight developed a series of industry firsts to streamline photo and video workflows, including the first ever colour touchscreen display, an intelligent SmartSoft Box and new RGBWW chips for flash in 16.7 million colours or 2,500 digital filters. There’s also a new App for native iOS and Android light control as well as the ability to pick and match colours with the AEOS 2.

With the 95 Wh Battery and PSU included in this Explorer kit you’ll be able to power the AEOS 2 directly from the mains or utilise up to 100,000 flashes from a single battery. An included soft carry case also lets you travel and set up quickly and efficiently when travelling to locations or different studio sets. We also have the AEOS 2 Masters Kit and Ultimate Kit for those who want the flexibility of more lights and convenience of light stands from their lighting kit.

SmartSoft Box
Rotolight has also revolutionised lighting control, saving both money and time on set, with effortless switching from beautiful soft output to a harder light source at a moment's notice with the world's first intelligent softbox. This allows you to electronically adjust your light's diffusion, focus and spread via the touchscreen display or Rotolight app, without the need for gels using an optional electric diffusion panel.
Native iOS And Android control
You’re always in control with the all new Rotolight app. The app lets you easily switch between lighting modes to adjust colour, power, flash settings and much more. Create custom groups and projects on up to 20 lights simultaneously right from the palm of your hand.

New RGBWW chips let you pick and shoot in millions of colours, complemented by popular digital filters as well as Rotolight’s exceptional special effects filters. Control over these and light output is easier than ever with a new colour touchscreen on the rear panel, as well as a newly developed App.
Speaking of light output, AEOS 2 is considerably brighter than its predecessor with flash power up to 17,800 LUX at 1m, so you can now overpower the sun in even brighter daylight conditions. Light modifiers are essential to which end Rotolight has developed new mount adapters for Speedrings and Bowens S mount, complementing the included highly portable diffuser dome. Condition guide
Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.

This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result. The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions. Anything that isn’t as you would expect, we then make a note of and show this in the condition notes on the page.
