The Lumix S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. Lens is a highly versatile zoom which delivers sharp, high-resolution results across a useful focal range. Spanning 24-105mm, it covers anything from landscapes to portraits and macro shots, making a great all-rounder for photographers and videographers.

Optically the lens features a 16-element, 13-group design, including four aspherical lenses and two ultra-extra-low dispersion (UED) elements to suppress aberrations and maintain edge-to-edge sharpness. Built-in Optical Image Stabilisation (O.I.S.) works in tandem with the camera body’s Dual I.S. 2, for up to 6.5 stops of stabilisation for handholding, even in low light.

For macro photography, the lens captures 0.5x magnification with a minimum focus distance of just 30cm, which is ideal for nature, product photography, and creative close-ups at a wedding or event. A dust and splash-resistant construction suits outdoor content, while its well-balanced design is comfortable for extended handholding.

With a new back-illuminated44.3 megapixel full-frame sensor, the S1R II offers Lumix’s best ever image quality to help bring even the smallest of details to life. The sensor renders high-resolution with rich and accurate colour expression, as well as high dynamic range up to 14 Stops with V-Log/V-Gamut (when Dynamic Range Expansion (log) is set to ON), and high sensitivity shooting with low noise.

The sensor is paired with the latest Engine with L2 Technology to deliver fast processing even at full resolution, with excellent noise performance from an expanded native ISO range of ISO 80-51200, which can be extended to ISO 40-102400.

Real-Time LUTs

Capture unique and consistent colour across your images with Panasonic’s Real-Time LUT feature, which applies signature presets in-camera, with the ability to overlay two LUTs simultaneously, save up to 39 LUTs, and with support for both VLT and .CUBE files.

Via the app, users can create, download and share their own custom LUTs, transfer to the camera and apply LUTS on a smartphone, in order to broadcast a consistent style across all of your media.

Dynamic video IS helps to stabilise movements such as large shaking, unstable walking shots, using a wide-angle lens, and using an anamorphic lens.

Panasonic has achieved up to 8.0-stop stop 5-Axis B.I.S. in the centre of the frame with 7.0-stops at the periphery when using a lens such as the Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6. It also achieves up to 7.0-stop 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2 with compatible lenses including the S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S.

The fastest burst shooting in the LUMIX S series

Despite recording over 44MP, the Panasonic Lumix S1R II is the fastest Lumix S camera to date, with a maximum burst rate of 40fps blackout-free in electronic shutter mode, with full AFC/AFS in 12-Bit RAW.

A new H+ (High Speed Plus) mode has been added to the menu, which prioritises burst shooting speed when AFC is enabled, while also allowing you to check framing without any blackout. This provides a clear advantage when shooting high-speed subjects, with no lag to disrupt your view.

177MP Handheld High-Resolution mode

By utilising sensor-shift technology the S1R II is able to combine eight exposures into a higher resolution image, which is 4x larger than base resolution. Even in handheld mode the camera provides extremely detailed stills without the need for a tripod.

The high-performance engine allows both JPEG and RAW recording or RAW processing in playback mode, ensuring that you can achieve extremely high levels of detail when required.

Lumix's First 8K Video

The Lumix S1R II is Panasonic’s first full-frame camera to offer 8K internal video recording at 30p, which is a major step to high-resolution video production. With 8K (7680 x 4320) 4:2:0 10-bit recording, filmmakers gain additional detail, whether capturing cinematic content or producing high-quality stills from video footage.

One of the biggest advantages of 8K is the ability to crop and reframe in post-production without losing significant detail. This is ideal for documentary work, interviews, or creative projects where dynamic reframing is sometimes required in post.

Open Gate Recording 6.4K 30p 10-bit

Alongside 8K 30p, the S1R II offers 6.4K Open Gate recording in 10-bit, providing full sensor readout for flexible aspect ratios, which is ideal for vertical crops and anamorphic shooting. Following a planned firmware update, the S1R II will support 8K video output to an external recorder via HDMI, using an Atomos video recorder. Blackmagic RAW recording will also be possible with a Blackmagic Design external recorder, alongside simultaneous proxy file recording on the camera.

Proxy recording simultaneously records a low bit-rate proxy file that is linked with the original video enabling a faster delivery from production to post.

Front/Rear Tally Lamp

Two tally lamps are available on the camera body, which indicate recording and standby conditions to the talent and camera operator. Brightness and on/off settings can be adjusted individually to suit ambient working conditions.

Panasonic has designed the S1R II camera body with a new shutter closing function, which helps protect the sensor from dust when changing lenses outdoors. By optimising the shutter unit, the system also achieves exceptional rigidity, with an expected shutter lifespan of 400,000 actuations.
