The Laowa Ranger FF 16-30mm T2.9 Cine Lens for Arri PL and EF is a professional cinema lens, which is designed to meet the needs of solo creators and production crews. It offers unmatched features and high performance optics, in order to help you create a cinematic story.
The Ranger series from Laowa boasts a zoom range between 16mm through to 180mm, with unified colour matching throughout the series. In the case of the Ranger FF 16-30mm T2.9 cine lens, optics are optimised with a parfocal design and exhibit virtually no focus breathing when pulling focus.
The cinema lens includes a constant wide aperture throughout the zoom range, and offers a close minimum focus distance of just 33cm in order to shoot extremely near to your subject. Despite delivering high image quality, the lens weighs under 800g and measures approximately 10cm in length, making it ideal for handheld shooting, mounting on gimbals, or even for use with a professional drone.
With its professional cine housing, this lens provides a smooth and reliable shooting experience, with a default PL mount and an interchangeable EF bayonet included in the box.

With 3 full frame lenses in one series, Ranger FF Compact Cine zoom lenses offer an extensive zoom range from 16mm to 180mm.
Extremely Compact and Lightweight

Spectacular Wide Angle of View
Ultra-wide angle lenses are highly sought by cinematographers because of their framing versatility, with the ability to capture landscapes and close-ups simultaneously. Featuring a 107° angle of view, breathtaking scenes can be captured in single shots with this ultra wide 16-30mm lens.
Constant T2.9 Aperture
Maintaining a constant T2.9 aperture throughout the zoom range allows cinematographers to have the same exposure and ISO setting for multiple scenes, while gathering as much light as possible in low light situations.
Excellent Contrast and colour Rendition
Designed with a modern optical formula, image quality is excellent, offering good sharpness and contrast, despite the moderate proportions of the lens. Colour rendition of the whole lens series is also matched across the set, saving post-processing time.
Parfocal Design
While some cine zoom lenses in the market are varifocal, Laowa Ranger lenses are built with a parfocal design, which keeps the subject in focus regardless of whether zooming in or back out.
Short minimum focus distance
The focusing distance of the Ranger 16-30mm is just 33cm. Shooting close at T2.9 can separate the subject from the background and create a painterly depth of field with smooth bokeh.
Minimised Focus breathing
Focus breathing is usually more visible in zoom lenses than in primes, and it can be distracting when shooting video. This 16-30mm has almost invisible focus breathing, ensuring a smooth and seamless focus pull capabilities.
Low Distortion
Optical distortion is very well controlled, with minimal distortion despite the ultra-wide angle of view. Straight lines are also retained from edge to edge.

Condition guide
Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.

This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result. The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions.
