The Fujifilm XC 35mm f/2 Lens is a compact, lightweight prime lens that offers a ‘standard’ 53mm equivalent focal length (full-frame). This range is excellent as an all-rounder for a variety of subjects, including portraits, street photography, and travel. The fast f/2 aperture allows users to shoot in low-light conditions as well as to create beautiful, soft background blur, which is perfect for isolating subjects by using a shallow depth of field.
Despite its compact size and weight of just 130g, this lens doesn’t compromise on image quality, with an optical design features 9 elements in 6 groups. This formula keeps size and weight down, while ensuring you can achieve high sharpness and clarity from the centre to the edges of the frame.
A stepping motor delivers fast, smooth, and nearly silent autofocus, making it suitable for both still photography and video recoding, and the lens is ideal for photographers of all levels.

Powerful sensor and processor combination
Fujifilm’s back-illuminated 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 5 are featured throughout Fuji’s range, including in the X-T5, which shares the same high-speed X-Processor 5. This provides twice the processing speed of the previous generation X-Processor 4, enabling deep learning subject recognition, advanced tracking, and a 20% reduction in power consumption.
The 26.1MP sensor delivers proven performance with fast readout speeds, supporting high-speed photography and exceptional video quality, ensuring the X-M5 meets a wide range of content creation demands.
The processor also introduces accurate white balance, leveraging AI-driven adjustments to render beautiful skin tones with more accurate results straight out of camera.
Stunning image quality
With a base ISO of 160 and a maximum 1/32,000 high-speed shutter (in electronic mode) for bright daylight, the sensor and processor combination produce fantastic image quality in any conditions. Wide dynamic range is captured so you retain highlight and shadow details, while the low ISO renders smooth results with reduced noise, even in low light conditions.
You can capture images in RAW to draw out the best quality from the sensor, or shoot with HEIF and Fuji’s predefined Film Simulation modes, which we look at more closely below. Whichever you opt for the X-M5 is capable of stunning image quality which surpasses the capabilities of today’s smartphones.
Updated Autofocus capabilities
The X-M5 offers fast and precise autofocus, with advanced AI-driven subject detection powered by the X-Processor 5. It can recognise and track various subjects, including:

Fujifilm’s updated Face/Eye AF algorithm is highly effective at tracking people, even when shooting in burst mode or while subjects are moving continuously across the frame. The sensor features 425 AF points and AF-C customs settings, ensuring you can come away with more shots in sharp focus throughout a variety of shooting scenarios. There’s even a Sports Finder Mode ready for athletes, birds, and other fast moving subjects, which crops the image to simulate a zoomed-in lens and get you closer to the action.
Advanced photography features
With a continuous burst shooting speed of 8fps in mechanical shutter more and 20fps in electronic shutter mode you can capture high-speed action and subjects which are typically very difficult to acquire. An AF range limiter speeds up subject acquisition through the ability to select a minimum and maximum range where the camera will focus, adding to the options for quicker and more accurate shooting options.
A maximum 1/4000 shutter speed in mechanical and 1/32,000 in electronic mode provides the speed required to capture stunning shallow depth of field images even during broad daylight, without the need for ND filters.

A wide range of movie recording options are available for creators who embrace the X-M5, including wireless frame.io camera to cloud technology, which is built into the body.
Video is available in a wide variety of professional formats including via HDMI for 12-bit ProRes and BlackMagic RAW. The camera also records 6.2K/30p 4:2:2 10-bit Open Gate, which means it uses the full sensor area for the best possible quality, and enables multiple aspect ratios from one take.
Adding the optional Fujifilm FAN-001 allows for 60+ minutes recording in hot ambient temperatures, although you can record for extended periods in cooler conditions without needing the fan.
UVC webcam mode caters to effortless streaming and live content productions in up to 4K/60p, while the optional tripod grip TG-BT1 can be used for vlogging.
Plenty of video options are available to suit any project, including high-speed recording up to 1080/240p for 10x slow motion playback, and 4K/60p with a 1.18x crop.
Tools for video makers include a Rec. frame indicator, Tally light and a 3.5mm Mic/Remote jack to add an external microphone, although the Fuji X-M5 camera does include surround audio capabilities.
3 Advanced Internal Surround Microphones
Fujifilm has included advanced audio capabilities with a new directional mic setting option. This allows for surround audio, front or back priority, and front and back priority. This joins new steady-state noise reduction plus an improved wind filter to help you capture more professional audio directly in-camera when vlogging or making movies.
Vlog Mode with new UI
The addition of touch control has significantly improved vlog mode, allowing you to easily select various vlogging settings from the streamlined user interface. Vlog mode provides quick access to mic settings, product priority, portrait enhancer, and other features, helping you achieve professional-looking results that will impress your audience and keep them coming back for more.
A 9:16 Short Movie mode is also available, enabling you to create videos for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, with footage cropped in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio.
Enhanced digital stabilisation
Upgraded Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS) dynamically crops the image to reduce the effects of camera shake, resulting in smoother-looking footage across all aspect ratios. This now includes 9:16 video at 24/30p, which benefits from a dynamic 1.32x crop, ensuring steady and impressive results during handheld shooting.
The enhanced digital stabilisation technology now compensates for rolling shutter effects, reducing unnatural distortion that can occur during panning or when capturing fast-moving subjects. This improvement expands stabilisation together with IS Mode Boost, which is available for a variety of conditions, including walking, handheld panning, and both small and large levels of camera shake.

Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
