Fujifilm GF 110mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift Macro Lens in More Detail
Sharp results from an advanced optical design
The lens optics are composed of 11 lens elements arranged in nine groups, featuring one aspherical element and two ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) elements. The aspherical element effectively manages comatic aberration and field curvature, while the ED elements work to minimise axial chromatic aberration.
Additionally, the lens design, with the aperture positioned midway, effectively reduces distortion and lateral chromatic aberration, resulting in edge-to-edge sharpness without the need for extensive electronic correction.
Ideal for still life and commercial photography
With a maximum magnification ratio of 0.5x, this lens from Fujifilm excels in close-up photography. Its tilting capability allows users to approach the subject with versatility, making it highly valuable in commercial photography, especially for capturing still-life subjects.
Medium format tilting and shifting
The lens allows for tilting within a range of ±8.5° and shifting of up to ±15mm, offering control over the focal plane and perspective of the subject. Additionally, it features a revolving operation that enables changes in tilting and shifting directions within ±90°. This T/S revolving operation also allows adjustments in the angle of tilting and shifting direction, ranging from perpendicular to parallel, within 0°- 90°. This flexibility provides photographers with a high degree of creative freedom when composing shots with a large-sized medium format sensor.
Fujifilm has fitted the lens with a built-in sensor that detects the degree of shifting and revolving movements. This data can be checked in Live View and is recorded into image data so that it can be used during RAW processing.
Compact design
The GF 110mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift Macro Lens boasts dimensions of 149mm in length and a weight of 1,255g, and it features a compact 72mm filter thread. Its focus system employs an extension of the front group, ensuring a compact overall lens size for great portability.

Our Verdict
Photographers who capture close-up images, still life and commercial shots with the Fujifilm GFX system gain a brilliant new option with the release of this GF 110mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift Macro Lens. Its launch coincided with a 30mm tilt shift wide angle lens, along with the next generation flagship GFX II, plus a standard focal width GF 55mm f/1.7 R WR Lens, which significantly extend the GFX platform.
Users opting for this mid-telephoto macro will be impressed not only by the image quality which it achieves, but also the versatility of the tilt / shift functionality. This can be operated in various angles thanks to a rotating design, as well as offering up to ±15mm shift, which is exceptional when compared to any camera system.
The optical design is able to render extremely high resolutions as demanded by Fujifilm’s own 102MP CMOS sensors, and also manages to maintain sharpness across the entire frame. It’s not only resolution which defines the lens however, but also the effective control of distortion, lateral chromatic aberration and axial chromatic aberration.
These characteristics reduce the need for correcting image artefacts during the editing process, while maintaining image quality strong enough for billboard sized printing, high-end editorial and commercial requirements.
It’s a fabulous time to be a photographer and GFX users who capture close-ups and commercial work will inevitably adopt this GF 110mm option into their workflow with great results.
