At the moment, the PowerShot V1 has only been announced for the Japanese market, with no confirmation of a global release.

The Canon PowerShot V1 Compact Camera provides the agility to do everything with just one compact camera, expanding the possibilities of everyday vlogging and photography. This is the latest Canon PowerShot camera and it packs all of the essential functions needed for photography and video into a single portable all-in-one body.

The V1 boasts a new 1.4-inch 22.3MP sensor that has approximately twice the area of a 1.0 inch sensor found in many compact cameras, which is able to deliver better image quality and greater sensitivity. Even the texture of hair and skin is more delicately rendered and this high-end model produces high-resolution video and high-quality still image shooting from one body.

Along with a new sensor the PowerShot V1 includes Dual Pixel CMOS AF II for PowerShot for the first time. This enables the camera to maintain tenacious focus over a wide area, even on fast moving subjects such as children or pets. An advanced subject detection algorithm automatically tracks subjects in a variety of scenes, so you can focus on creativity.

The camera is equipped with an integrated wide angle zoom lens, which provides a full-frame equivalent of approximately 17-52mm when shooting video, and approximately 16-50mm for stills. The bright zoom lens features an aperture range of f/2.8-4.5, making it easy to capture a variety of subjects without changing lenses.

When shooting still images it can be set to 1.4x crop using an area equivalent to a 1.0-inch sensor and can also be switched to a standard focal length of approximately 23-71mm. The lens' optical IS and electronic image stabilisation work together to reduce camera shake and capture natural footage even when filming handheld while walking.

Long-Duration Video Recording

A built-in cooling fan efficiently dissipates heat from the engine, sensor, and other internal components, enabling extended recording times of over two hours *2 *3 *4 even at 4K30P.
