Most notably the Sony ZV-1 mark II now brings a wider zoom lens, which is brilliant for vlogging as you fit much more in the frame and is also a bonus when capturing selfies, group shots and want more background scenery in your videos. You also have excellent autofocus with Sony’s Realtime tracking of human Eye AF and now animal Eye AF too. This really helps to keep the subject sharp in the frame, even while they move around or look away.
At 292g the Sony ZV-1 II is light enough to bring absolutely anywhere and it comes with plenty of useful features for vloggers. These include the flip-out LCD touchscreen with improved touch control, which feels more like your smartphone thanks to swipe gestures and quick access to settings. The LCD shows a red recording border when in Selfie mode and there’s also a Tally light on top of the camera for recording confirmation.
You can control the camera via both the LCD screen or the physical controls on the body, which includes a zoom lever that quickly changes the angle of view in your video. The camera grip has also been updated making it easier to change the battery, there’s a Bokeh switch button and Sony has included a USB-C connection in the newer model.
The 3-capsule mic upgrade is able to capture improved audio quality from different directions around the camera, regardless of whether you’re vlogging from behind, or interviewing someone in front.
While the ZV-1 II includes the same 4K 30fps and 120fps Full HD video quality as its predecessor, Sony has added several new modes for adjusting video settings more easily. These include one-touch Cinematic Vlog Setting, My Image Style and there’s also Creative Look to experiment with now.
These offer pre-defined styles for your movie content and can switch all of the camera’s settings at once, with just a single tap on the LCD. Product Showcase is another great feature, which adjusts focus automatically between you and the product being reviewed, so you can concentrate on storytelling and reviewing.
Other useful video features include Bokeh switching and multi-person recognition, which adjust background blur and focus on the main talent in the scene. Whichever types of video you create, the ZV-1 II offers a great solution with brilliant results.
With some of these upgrades, the ZV-1 mark 2 is beginning to feel more like interchangeable lens vlog cameras such as the Sony ZV-E10 and flagship ZV-E1, but with the convenience and ease-of-use which comes with a point-and-shoot. It’s a vlogging camera for content creators who make regular vlogs or live-streams and want better quality than you can achieve with a smartphone.
It has a wider zoom lens to fit more in the frame as well as a significantly improved touchscreen and loads of new one-tap settings, which make it much easier to create stylish and distinct videos for your audience.
Reserve your Sony ZV-1 II vlog camera today and make the most of everything it offers for your video content creation to impress your audience on any platform. Don’t forget to grab a quick free quotation for trading in camera gear, which can help offset the cost of upgrading.
