NEWS: Nikon Imaging Cloud Service Now Live

As promised alongside the launch of the Z6 III camera, Nikon’s Imaging Cloud Service is now live. By joining this service, Nikon creators gain access to 30-day backups, firmware updates and new creative tools, including content storage and image recipes. As of June 17, 2024 the Nikon Imaging Cloud is only compatible with the Nikon Z6 III camera.

What does the Nikon Imaging Cloud Service offer?

• With image recipes creators can colour grade images in-camera, creating unique and exclusive styles more consistently across all of their images. Recipes are loaded as new Picture Control profiles in a similar way as LUTs, and are all free to subscribers. You can also create your own recipes from JPEG and RAW (NEF) images, where adjustments are saved using NX Studio.
• With a WiFi connection Nikon cloud subscribers gain automated backups directly from their camera to the cloud. Cloud based storage is essentially an off-site backup, which is limited to 30 days of storage. This could be ideal if travelling, or on assignment. Content on Nikon’s cloud can also be seamlessly pushed to a third-party platform of your choice to maintain current workflows.
• Firmware update alerts are also offered, which are handy for keeping your camera and lenses up to date. Users can choose between automatic updates or in-camera alerts for new firmware.
