NEWS: On 08 November 2022 in order to meet sustainable goals Lowepro camera backpacks across Pro Trekker and Whistler lines have been updated to include recycled materials and are manufactured with greener processes.
Lowepro has also added nine GearUp bag accessories, pouches and wraps to the Green Line range, which also include recycled materials, FSC certified paper tags and 100% recycled polybag packaging. These follow on from the ProTactic BP 450 AW II and ProTactic BP 350 AW II, which were the first backpacks to receive an eco update and featured in our Lowepro ProTactic Backpacks Review.
Discover what this means for your photography gear, what prices the new green bags are and the best photography accessories you can buy, with a completely clear conscience.
In pursuit of greener credentials, Lowepro is converting products into their ‘Green Line.’ This reduces resources and emissions, without compromising on the high quality, which contribute to the popularity of their bags and accessories.
The green line score is calculated following the GRI 301-2 standard, measuring the weight of recycled yarn compared to the total yarn and Lowepro measures their solution dye percent by weight using the same method.
When you see the Green Line logo and green line bar on any Lowepro bags, accessories and packaging, you’ll know the product has been made with these new processes. The November 2022 Green Line update includes the following camera bags:

Aside from the Green Line update, both bag ranges are essentially the same, which ensures they provide you with best-in-class performance and plenty of features for carrying your equipment.
The Pro Trekker range is made for longer hikes and is carry-on compatible with most airlines despite holding volumes of gear, with features that include:
Whistler backpacks are 4-season technical bags with space for photography gear, video equipment, drones, gimbals and outdoor gear like skis, ropes, a shovel and other functional outdoor essentials.
RLX and RL packs from both ranges offer the unique benefit of converting from a backpack to a roller bag, which is ideal for frequent traveling and carrying lots of heavy content equipment.
Joining the bags are nine popular Lowepro GearUp accessories, which received the same manufacturing and recycled material treatment. The best camera accessories play a vital role for many photographers and Lowepro’s storage organisers are designed to keep accessories not only organised, but secure and readily accessible.
