NEWS: On 28 March 2023 DJI launches new DJI Goggles Integra, DJI RC Motion 2 and Combos with the powerful Avata drone. Discover highlight features, launch prices and what’s new from DJI for 2023.
DJI already has Goggles 2, so what’s the difference? DJI Goggles Integra and DJI Goggles 2 are similar sizes, with the same video transmission and HD screen display. However DJI Goggles Integra adds an integrated design with battery headband, making it more convenient to wear and the touch panel is replaced with physical buttons.
The diopter adjustment function, wireless streaming, dot matrix display, speaker and 3.5mm audio port have all been removed from Goggles Integra, while the following features have been upgraded:
The latest goggles can be used with DJI Avata, the DJI O3 Air Unit and the DJI Digital FPV System.
At the time of launch, DJI Goggles Integra cost £579.00, which is considerably less than Goggles 2, which are priced at £729.00. This is of course great news for pilots who want the exhilarating experience of feeling as though they’re sitting in the aircraft pilot seat.
DJI has updated their motion controller drone accessory with second generation upgrades including an independent joystick for height control and left-right horizontal flight control and the accelerator now supports backward flight. A new FN dial can also be used to control camera settings, UI interaction and more on goggles.
The ability to reverse out of tight spots is a valuable addition, especially when it’s tricky to make a U-turn such as when flying in a forest or between obstacles. DJI Avata does have built-in prop protection but there’s nothing like flying backwards while wearing goggles! The new motion controller only works with DJI Avata, but can be used together with new DJI Goggles Integra, DJI Goggles 2 and DJI FPV Goggles V2.
At the time of launch the DJI RC Motion 2 price is £159.00, which is just £20 more expensive than the outgoing first generation model. This presents great value for anyone adding a new controller to their Avata system and offers a good option to upgrade from the first gen.
DJI has created four combos which have been released alongside the two newly developed products, catering for pilots who want to add to an existing drone or buy a combo with Avata included.
